Supernovae This site, operated by the Chandra X-Ray Observatory group, contains 6 pages of information on supernovae and their remnants. The "Supernovas (Video)" link on page 6 takes you to a number of animations of supernovae explosions and pulsars. Visit the Chandra: Supernovae and Supernovae Remnants web site
Neutron Stars This site was part of a course at Jodrell Bank. If you click on "The discovery" link (under "A Tutorial on Radio Pulsars" and then "The Discovery of Pulsars") you can see the graph from which the first pulsar was discovered. Also, listen to the sounds made by the brightest pulsars in the sky! Visit the Jodrell Bank: Introduction to Pulsar Astronomy web site
Merger of Black Holes The simulation on this site shows a merger of two galaxies, each with its own centrally located supermassive black hole surrounded by an accretion disk. The black holes orbit each other for hundreds of millions of years before they merge to form a single black hole that sends out intense gravitational waves.
