Tennessee Board of Regents Selects Jones & Bartlett’s CDX Automotive to Deliver Customized, State-Wide Online Automotive Training Curriculum
Sudbury, MA, September 28, 2009 - The Tennessee Board of Regents (“TBR”) - the sixth largest system of public higher education in the nation, with 45 campuses, over 200,000 students, and 15,500 full-time employees, has selected Jones & Bartlett to customize its automotive online learning curriculum using CDX Automotive for use across its 27 Tennessee Technology Centers (“TTC”).
Tennessee’s extensive network of free-standing technology centers are the state’s premier providers of workforce development. The 27 TTCs and over 800 employees provide state-of-the-art technical training for workers to obtain the technical skills and professional training necessary for advancement in today’s competitive job market. Through their workforce development mission, the TTCs help businesses and industries satisfy their need for a well-trained, skilled workforce. Under the governance of the TBR, the TTCs offer certificate and diploma programs in more than 50 distinct occupational fields as well as customized training for business and industry.
“The Tennessee Board of Regents is excited to be partnering with Jones and Bartlett and their program CDX Automotive. We were looking for a tool to provide instructional support through access to interactive media that is industry standard, comprehensive, and easy to use by students and instructors. With increased enrollment, we needed a program that could be integrated into our learning management system. This will allow instructors to create a hybrid learning environment of eLearning, instructor led and hands on training for their students” said Chelle Travis, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Instruction, Tennessee Technology Centers.
CDX Automotive is the most current, relevant and interactive online learning curriculum for automotive education available in the market today and is used in more than 3,000 learning organizations worldwide including colleges, career schools, private training institutions, US state-wide training agencies and province-wide training centers including the Ontario Ministry of Education and the Manitoba Department of Education & Training. In addition, CDX Automotive serves a growing base of corporate customers such as Shell, Advance Auto Parts, Ford Australia, and PEP Boys.
“This revolutionary learning platform represents a new paradigm for how today’s students learn automotive skills,” said James Homer, Executive Vice President of Jones & Bartlett. “We look forward to working with Tennessee’s outstanding network of technology centers to extend their automotive training curriculum for students across the entire state of TN.”
CDX Automotive offers a turnkey solution to high schools, career schools, community colleges and skill centers wishing to join the e-learning initiative recently announced by The National Automotive Technicians Education Foundations (NATEF) that supports up to 25 percent of the NATEF instructional hour requirements to be met through e-learning components conducted outside the regularly scheduled classroom and lab/shop timeframe.
