Transaction Adds Best-Selling Titles to Successful Nursing and EMS Programs
at Jones and Bartlett
April 18, 2006. Sudbury, MA. Jones and Bartlett Publishers, Inc. today announced the acquisition of Porter and Associates Publishing including the best-selling nursing pocket guides and Porter’s EMS Protocols. The acquisition will expand Jones and Bartlett’s market leading position in nursing and emergency medical services. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
With nearly 500,000 copies in print, the Porter’s Pocket Guide Series is well-known in the nursing field and includes Porter’s Pocket Guide to Nursing, Porter’s Pocket Guide to Pediatrics, and Porter’s Pocket Guide to Emergency & Critical Care. Each title is a succinct portrait of the key clinical information nurses and health professionals need at their fingertips—medications, instant doses, cardiology, neurology, pediatrics, drug compatibility, laboratory values, vision screener, and useful appendices. Porter’s Pocket Guides have been an indispensable reference to healthcare professionals and institutions for over 15 years.
Porter’s EMS Protocols are the leading protocols on the market today and enjoy the position as the official treatment protocols for the U.S. Coast Guard and for hundreds of EMS agencies across the U.S. and Canada. Presented in a distinct flow chart format, the protocols are customizable and computer-based.
