Chapter 4 - The Darwinian Impact: Evolution and Religion
Since the publication of Darwin's Origin of Species in 1859, science has found overwhelming evidence of evolution. Many religious groups have accepted evolution's central role in science but some have not. A recent movement called "scientific creationism" has raised many specific arguments. A principle objective of such groups has been to challenge evolution in the curricula of public schools. Thinking critically about these issues is a good exercise for understanding the details and connections of sciences within evolution.
