Chapter 3 - The Arguments and the Evidence

Taking an interest in evolution means taking an interest in life itself. We can see, all around us and in fossils, wide spread evidence of evolution. Darwin had a rich supply of examples to discuss. His own experiences stimulated him to use those examples of comparative anatomy or the distribution of animals, or of processes as embryology and evidence as of fossils. Evolution's Chapter 3 provides a fine sampling of evidence that was available in Darwin's time.

Topics for Chapter 3:

  • Evidence by Comparative Similarity of Organs

  • A Sample of Comparative Anatomy from 1881

  • Evolution of the Horse

  • Evolution of the Eye; Darwin's Consideration of a Difficult Problem
