Chapter 19 - Evolution of Mammals

Mammals are fur-bearing, milk-feeding, agile and resourceful products of evolution. The mammals include three main modes of reproduction: eggs, eggs hatching to an embryo that climbs to a placental pouch, and eggs hatching within the body to be nourished by the mother’s placenta. Mammals have lived and evolved through dramatic changes in Earth’s environment.
