Electronic Text Request for Disabled Students

Institutions may request from Jones & Bartlett Publishers electronic files, if available, on behalf of any student with a disability that prevents the student from using standard instructional materials. Requests must come from the institution's designated accessibility officer or legal entity authorized by the institution, and files will only be provided to the requestor. Requests directly from students will not be honored.

Jones & Bartlett Publishers will not release content in any format other than text or Word files and will not release art in any format. Jones & Bartlett Publishers does not produce products in Braille, large print, audio format, or with closed captioning. Because of technological barriers in extracting and converting text, unexpected errors can be made by the software, and the content is delivered "as is" and Jones & Bartlett makes no warranty as to its use or performance.

The textbook being requested may already be in a format the student may require. Please check the following resources before submitting a request to Jones & Bartlett:

All requests are delivered via email in a .ZIP archive, and spam filters or email file size limitations may prevent email delivery of attachments. If the requested files have not been received within three weeks of the request, please contact Jones & Bartlett. The attachment size for a zipped Word file is generally under 5 MB. You must have at least 5 MB available in your Inbox. Please check with your email service provider to confirm your account meets these requirements. Jones & Bartlett is not responsible for lost or blocked email transmissions and attachments.

Verification and Agreement

I verify and agree that:

The requesting school or disabled student has purchased the above named printed work (the "Title").
The student is registered to take or attend the above course requiring the use of the Title.
The student has a disability that prevents him or her from using the Title.
The disability has been verified by the school's accessibility services department.
The request is made or supported by the Coordinator of Services for Students with Disabilities or other appropriate school official.
The Title has been determined to be essential to the student's successful completion of the course.
The student and the school will not use or further distribute or copy the electronic files for the Title for any other purpose.
In using the electronic files provided by the Publisher, the disabled student, the College Disabled Student Services Office, or other student official, will abide by the Copyright Law of the United States of America, as amended (17 U.S.C. Sec 101 et seq.) and the applicable code of conduct and policy of the requestor's school.
Jones and Bartlett Publishers owns all rights to the Title and the electronic files for the Title, including copyright. The student and the school have only the right to use the electronic files for the purposes set forth in this request.
