Audience: All Employees
Course Length: 480 minutes
About the Course:
This 8-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (also frequently referred to as HAZWOPER) training course is a program designed to re-familiarize the student with basic occupational safety and health principals learned in the 24-Hour and/or 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification Training course. This course does not necessarily emphasize safety and health regulatory standards. We will, however, follow closely the foundation standard enforced by OSHA. Primary reference is the HAZWOPER Standard 29 CFR 1910.120. The course has been shortened from the 2007 version by eliminating several modules, resulting in completion time frames more in line with the 8-hour target.
The 16 modules include:
- Introduction (plus What’s New 2008)
- HAZWOPER Overview
- Safety and Health Programs.
- Site Characterization and Analysis
- Site Control
- Training
- Medical Surveillance
- Hazard Controls
- Monitoring
- Handling Drums and Containers
- Decontamination/Other Topics
- Emergency Response/Hazardous Waste
- HAZWOPER at RCRA Sites
- Emergency Response to Hazardous Substances
- The 5 Appendices in the HAZWOPER Standard.
- Hazard Identification and Control of Hazards
