1. Read the Jones & Bartlett Publishers Affiliate Program Operating Agreement.
2. Sign-Up: Fill-out a brief online registration form. You will receive an immediate E-mail welcoming you to the program and giving you instructions on how to get started providing access to Jones & Bartlett Publishers courses. We typically review registration forms within one to two business days. After your site has been approved, you will receive another E-mail with detailed instructions on how to enter our members-only area called Affiliate Central.
3. Use Affiliate Central to build access to Jones & Bartlett Publishers. Once your site has been approved, you will get access to Affiliate Central, which provides you with a fast and easy way to link to the Jones & Bartlett Publishers Home Page. You will also have access to banners and graphics, helpful tips, and 24-hour online reporting so that you can keep track of your earnings online any time.
4. Start Earning Referral Fees. You will automatically be eligible to earn referral fees for sales generated by your links once your site has been approved. You will always have access to your earnings and traffic reports through Affiliate Central. The reports will show you which courses your visitors are accessing, how many they are accessing, and what your earning are on those purchases. With that information, you can optimize your site and make the most of your relationship with us. Referral fees are paid at the end of each quarter.

No, there are no fees of any kind for applying to and participating in the Jones & Bartlett Publishers Affiliate Program. There is no charge to apply and there is no minimum sales requirement or sales quota you must reach before earning referral fees with out program. You start earning right away.

3.  Does my web site qualify for the Affiliate Program?     (BACK TO TOP)

Most web sites will qualify to participate in the program; however, we may reject web sites that we determine are unsuitable. Examples of sites that would not qualify for participation include:
• Sites that promote sexually explicit material
• Sites that promote violence
• Sites that promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, national origin, physical disability, sexual orientation, or age
• Sites that promote illegal activities
• Sites that violate intellectual property rights

4.  Can I participate if I live outside the United States?     (BACK TO TOP)

Yes, you may participate in the Affiliate Program if you live outside the United States. All you need to join is a web site. We suggest that you read the complete text of the Operating Agreement before you join. Please note that referral fees are paid in U.S. dollars.

5.  Can I apply to the Affiliate Program more than once?     (BACK TO TOP)

You may submit more than one application, but if you need multiple ID's for tracking reasons, we recommend that you apply once and then simply send an E-mail message to Linda McGarvey and request the number of tracking ID's you need assigned to your account.

6.  How should I design my web site?     (BACK TO TOP)

Every Affiliate site is unique, and we do not provide any kind of standard template for you to start with. That is because in almost every case, successful affiliates will have a pre-existing web site or idea for a web site in mind when they join the program. You should try to make your recommendations or links to Jones & Bartlett Publishers look and feel like the rest of your site. If you do not yet have a web site, your options are endless and we encourage you to give the site its own unique personality. We will give you many suggestions and tips on effective ways to earn referral fees from your web site in Affiliate Central.

7.  I do not know how to write HTML or use my site development tool, will Jones & Bartlett Publishers help me?     (BACK TO TOP)

We recommend that you first turn to local sources of help, including the help files included with your web development software. There are many free web sites which provide a great deal of excellent advice on building a web site, targeted for the beginner. This link will take you to a site that is a good starting point.

Once you have acquired the basic skills needed to build a web site, but still need help linking to the Jones & Bartlett site, please contact us at Technical Support and we will attempt to provide help. However, the wide variety of web site building tools may prevent us from being able to help you with your specific program.

8.  I have more than one URL, can I register all of them as Jones & Bartlett Publishers Affiliates?     (BACK TO TOP)

You have two options:
1. You can sign up once for all of your URLs. If you choose this option, you will see all of your earning and traffic reports for all of your sites in one report that you can access online at Affiliate Central. You will have one Affiliates ID, and there will be no way for you to know which of your sites is generating the most sales.
2. You can submit an application to our program and then send an E-mail message to Linda McGarvey to request the number of tracking ID's you need assigned to your account.

9.  Can I get multiple Affiliate ID's?     (BACK TO TOP)

Yes, to get multiple Affiliate ID's, submit our online application, and then send an E-mail message to Linda McGarvey and request the number of Affiliate ID's that you need. These Affiliate ID's will be assigned to your account, and you will be able to switch between ID's online when using our self-service web site, Affiliate Central.

10.  Can I take the order on my web site and just send the customer and order information to Jones & Bartlett Publishers?     (BACK TO TOP)

Unfortunately, no. Due to the way order and user information is processed to create a new user on Jones & Bartlett Publishers, this not possible.

11.  Can a non-profit join the Affiliate Program?     (BACK TO TOP)

Yes, we encourage non-profits to join our program.

12.  How much does Jones & Bartlett Publishers pay me in referral fees?     (BACK TO TOP)

You will be paid 10%.

13.  Which products qualify for referral fees, and how are the fees calculated?     (BACK TO TOP)

Referral fees are earned on all programs and titles equally. You earn a referral fee on each qualifying sale, as long as the customer successfully purchases the programs or titles. The referral fee is 10% of the selling price of individual programs or titles. Because prices fluctuate, it is not recommended that Affiliates post price information on their web site. See the complete text of the Operating Agreement for details.

14.  When and how do I get paid?     (BACK TO TOP)

We will pay you referral fees on a quarterly basis. Approximately 30-days following the end of each calendar quarter (March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31), we will send you a quarterly report and a check for the referral fees on earned titles that were accessed during that quarter, less any taxes that we are required by law to withhold. Although the Operating Agreement states that if your accrued fees for any calendar quarter are less than $100.00 we will hold payment until the total amount due is at least $100.00 or (if earlier) until the Agreement is terminated, as a service to our Affiliates, accounts with cumulative earning in excess of $25.00 will receive payment.

If the customer returns a title that generated a referral fee, we will deduct the corresponding fee from your next quarterly payment. If there is no subsequent payment, we reserve the right to send you a bill for the fee at the end of the following quarter.

15.  How does Jones & Bartlett Publishers track orders coming from my web site?     (BACK TO TOP)

An Affiliates ID is assigned when you sign-up though our online form. Links from Affiliates web sites to Jones & Bartlett Publishers use a special format that includes this code. Every time a customer follows one of those links to our site, this unique URL tells us which Affiliate sent the customer to us.

16.  Does Jones & Bartlett Publishers have an online reporting feature so that I can keep track of my earnings and traffic?     (BACK TO TOP)

Yes, once you have been accepted into the program, you will have access to our members-only area, Affiliate Central. There, you will be able to view your earning and traffic reports at any time. These reports not only show you what you earn, they also show you how much and what exactly your customers are buying, which will help you determine which titles sell well from your site.

17.  Will I earn referral fees for personal orders that I make through my web site?     (BACK TO TOP)

As stated in the Operating Agreement, we do not pay referral fees for personal orders. The nature of the marketing agreement between Jones & Bartlett Publishers and its Affiliates involves the payment of referral fees for referring new customers. It is important that we are paying for new customers and not simply providing Affiliates additional discounts.

18.  Do I have to meet sales quotas or performance tiers before I can earn fees?     (BACK TO TOP)

No. Unlike many other Affiliates-style programs, we do not require our Affiliates to meet sales quotas or performance tiers to earn their fees. We pay 10% for sale of titles, regardless of how many you sell.
