"We use the Mississippi State Fire Academy as our certifying agency and therefore we use the same materials as they do. After looking over your manual I have to say it is one of the best I have seen in a long time. I love the step by step illustrations, the nice flow of material, and the amount of knowledge that you have placed in the fingertips of my students. Thank you and GREAT job!"

“While participating on a firefighter 2 validation committee for lesson plans and course support materials, we were given three of the most popular nationally recognized training manuals as resources. As we worked our way through the information our goal was to insure that the information to be taught met the NFPA standard and the material had a valid reference in each text. Hands down the Jones and Bartlett Fundamentals of Fire Fighter Skills , 2nd edition had the most comprehensive material and was the best reference for the standards and the training to be taught . We will use the Jones and Bartlett 2nd edition for our upcoming firefighter I & 2 classes, exclusively.

“This book is extremely detailed and up to date. I find more information in this book compared to <other fire fighter manuals>.”

"Just have to tell you that I believe that the Second Edition of Jones and Bartlett’s Fundamentals of Fire Fighter Skills is the most thorough text for basic firefighting in one book that I have seen in my 26 years as a fire instructor in the State of North Carolina. Any competent instructor realizes that there is no one specific book that is the "Bible" when it comes to teaching rookie firefighters for certification, but I’ve found that the 1st and now the 2nd Editions of Jones and Bartlett’s "Fire Fighter Skills" text and the skills that it highlights are useful to replace <our previous text> in my rookie classes. I find that the students are more capable of completing job performance related practical exercises more readily after the use of this text. I particularly like the associated CD for instructors, which I utilize for PowerPoint presentations while teaching class. I think Jones and Bartlett has struck gold with this series including the CD for students that accompanies the Second Edition."

"I received a copy Fundamentals of Fire Fighter Skills, Second Edition. WOW. It's about time somebody recognized smoke as a major part of firefighting. The addition of the basics of smoke reading and its physical/chemical hazards will no doubt save someone's life."
