Eileen O'Reilly, MD - Division of GI Oncology, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
Dr. Eileen O’Reilly is a member of the Gastrointestinal Oncology service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in New York. She received her medical degree from Trinity College (Dublin University) in Ireland. Her major research and clinical interests are pancreatic cancer and hepatobiliary malignancies. She is involved in developing innovative therapeutics for these diseases in the phase I and II setting and looking at novel approaches to radiosensitization. She also has a major interest in vaccine immunotherapy for pancreatic cancer.
Joanne Frankel Kelvin, RN, MSN - Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
Joanne Frankel Kelvin, RN, MSN, AOCN, has been a nurse for over 25 years. Her clinical specialty is oncology nursing, and she has worked as a nurse practitioner, a clinical nurse specialist, and as a nurse manager. Since 1987, she has worked at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, specializing in the care of patients with gastrointestinal malignancies, including pancreatic cancer. She has counseled patients and families, individually and in groups, in making decisions about treatment, managing symptoms of disease and side effects of treatment, coping with cancer, and planning for end of life care. While maintaining an active clinical practice, she has been involved in numerous professional activities: participating in national committees, publishing book chapters and journal articles, presenting at local and national conferences, and developing educational materials for patients. She is co-author of 100 Questions & Answers About Pancreatic Cancer (Jones and Bartlett, 2002).
