Marilyn Klainberg, EdD, RN - Adelphi University School of Nursing

Dr. Klainberg, is a professor of nursing at the Adelphi University School of Nursing. She has taught for over 31 years. Her areas of expertise are Community Health Nursing, Higher Education and Professional Development. She is active in several professional organizations such as Sigma Theta Tau, New York State Nurses Association and District 14, the Nurses Association of the Counties of Long Island. She was the Associate Dean at the School of Nursing before stepping back to her faculty position to do what she loves most TEACH!
 

Kathleen M. Dirschel, RN, PhD - Vice President for Education and Dean, Cochran School of Nursing

Dr. Dirschel currently serves as Vice President for Education at St. John’s Riverside Health Care System and Dean of the Cochran School of Nursing.  She is also responsible for Staff Development, the Libraries and the Continuing Education Institute.  Dr. Dirschel has wide expertise in Nursing Education, Educational Administration, and Nursing Administration. She currently is an adjunct Professor at New York University, Teacher’s College, Columbia University, and Mercy College.

She has held positions at major medical centers and at major universities.  On an international level, Dr. Dirschel has had success in negotiating and implementing exchange programs in nursing in both China and Korea.  On a national and statewide professional level, she has served as President of the New Jersey Board of Nursing, as Chair of the Baccalaureate Council, of National League for Nursing, and President of local Sigma Theta Tau Chapter at Adelphi University.   She was President of Nurses Educational Funds and still sits as a member of the Board. She was a manager in a national consulting firm for health care IT.  Dr. Dirschel served as Trustee on two hospital boards.  She is well published and has spoken widely on many nursing and health care issues.
