Mary de Chesnay holds the Endowed Chair in Vulnerable Populations from Seattle University College of Nursing and is the former Dean of the School of Nursing at Duquesne University. She has a private practice in family therapy, specializing in family violence. A Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and the Society of Applied Anthropology, she has conducted research in family issues in the United States and abroad, currently in Nicaragua.

Barbara Anderson, a certified nurse-midwife and public health specialist, is chair of the Department of International Health, and program coordinator for maternal-child health at Loma Linda University School of Public Health. She has broad international experience in teaching, fieldwork, and consulting in the area of reproductive health.
