Steve Persson
Captain Steve Persson is a thirty-five year veteran of the Cambridge (MA) Fire Department. He was promoted to Captain in 1986 and assumed the role of Department Training Officer in 1991, a role in which he still serves. Captain Persson holds an AS degree in Fire Science Technology, has attended the University of Massachusetts Institute of Government Services, and is a certified Instructor I and Hazardous Materials Technician. Captain Persson has been appointed by the Governor as a member of the Massachusetts State Fire Training Council and represents the interests of the Massachusetts Institute of Fire Department Instructors. He has worked at the National Fire Protection Association in the Public Fire Protection Division as a Fire Service Research Assistant, author, technical assistant and consultant. In addition to his duties on the Cambridge MA Fire Department, he is the Fire Chief and Town Fire Warden in the Town of Frye Island, Maine.
