Sandra B. Lewenson, EdD, RN, FAAN - Lienhard School of Nursing, Pace University
Sandra B. Lewenson, EdD, RN, FAAN is a Professor of Nursing at the Lienhard School of Nursing Pace University. She is a noted nurse historian and recently served as the President of the American Association for the History of Nursing. Dr. Lewenson teaches courses in decision-making, nursing history, and nursing education.
Throughout her career she has served in educational leadership positions, including the Director of Accreditation at the National League for Nursing and most recently as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the Lienhard School of Nursing. Her interests include nursings’ historical political activity, integrating nursing history in the curriculum, evidence of Nursism and the effect on nursing recruitment and retention, and the change in nursing education from an apprenticeship model to a baccalaureate and higher degree.
She has received several awards in nursing including the Outstanding Scholarship and Research Award from Teachers College Columbia University, Hall of Fame of the Alumni Association of Hunter College, the Lavinia Dock Award for Historical Scholarship and Research in Nursing, and Sigma Theta Tau’s Media Nursing Print Award. She is a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society.
Marie Truglio-Londrigan, PhD, RN - School of Health and Natural Sciences, Mercy College
Marie Truglio-Londrigan, PhD, RN has been a nurse since 1976 and has primarily practiced in community, long-term care and public health nursing. She holds a Baccalaureate Degree from Herbert H. Lehman College, a MSN in Primary Health Care Nursing of the Aged from Seton Hall University, and a PhD in nursing from Adelphi University. Dr. Londrigan holds a faculty practice at Aging in America, Morningside House in the Bronx, New York. She has published in the areas of gerontology as well as areas pertaining to public health, health promotion and disease prevention, and ethical conduct in nursing education. Presently, Dr. Marie Truglio-Londrigan is a faculty member at Pace University, Lienhard School of Nursing. She is a Professor and Co-Director of the Institute for Healthy Aging and the Chair of the Graduate Department of Nursing.
