Carol Holtz, RN, PhD - Kennesaw State University
Dr. Carol Holtz is an RN, PhD and has a BSN from the University of Cincinnati, College of Nursing and Health, and a Master’s and PhD in Nursing from Georgia State University.
She is a Professor of Nursing at the Wellstar School of Nursing at KennesawStateUniversity, where she has worked for the past 26 years. Currently Dr. Holtz sits on the Kennesaw State University’s Strategic Planning Committee and President’s Advisory Board. In 2005 she recieved the Wellstar College of Health and Human Services Teacher of the Year Award.
She works in the student Honors Program and developed an interdisciplinary seminar course entitled Cultural Diversity. She developed the unique nursing elective, entitled “Nursing Practicum in Oaxaca, Mexico”, which she has coordinated and taught for the past 11 years. She also developed and taught a course on International Health Care Policy, which is a nursing elective and a required course for International Affairs majors at Kennesaw State University. In addition, she also teaches Parent-Child Nursing, Gerontological Nursing, and Community Health Nursing.
She has lectured at nursing programs in China, the Philippines, Guatemala, and Mexicoon numerous occasions, and has traveled extensively throughout the world.
She is also the Vice Chair of the Cobb County Board of Health in metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia, is a past president of the Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau international nursing honor society, and is currently on the Board of the Mu Phi Chapter.
